Possible Cause:

 Oil condition is often the cause of not reaching end vacuum.

Remedy:

drain oil from pump and refill with fresh oil. Run pump with fresh oil for 15 minutes then take new   pressure reading.

Remedy:
clean screen and check inlet filter element.

Remedy:
replace shaft seal from overhaul kit.

Remedy:
Fill with flushing oil. Run pump for 15 minutes and drain. Replace fluid with fresh oil, exhaust filter, and spin on filter. ¬ replace vanes from overhaul kit.

Remedy:
disassemble valve and screen, clean as required. Drain old oil and replace with fresh oil.

Remedy:
shut down pump, drain balance of oil and refill with fresh oil.

Remedy:
check hose and pipe connections for leaks.

Remedy:
overhaul pump or call to Economy for exchange program.

Remedy:
check the condition of float valve, and adjust the nozzle position or repair it.

Possible cause:
Coupling insert is worn.
Remedy:
replace coupling insert in motor/pump coupling.

Remedy:
follow flush procedure from 5.1.4 or replace vane or call to Economy for exchange program.

Remedy:
replace bearings or call to Economy for exchange program.

Possible Cause:
Oil is too viscous.
Remedy:
drain and change with fresh oil using with recommended viscosity.

Remedy:
Replace exhaust filters and maintain proper oil condition. ¬make sure inlet filter is operational and that it is preventing particulate carryover.

Remedy:
check wiring diagram for proper connections; tighten or replace loose connections.

Remedy:
overhaul pump or call Economy for exchange program.

Remedy:
drain oil; use correct type of Vacuum pump oil.

Remedy:
check for correct rotation. If incorrect, switch any two leads.

Possible Cause:
Supply voltage is not proper or is overloaded. Motor starter overload settings are too low or improper; fuses are burned; wire size is too small or too long causing a voltage drop.
Remedy:
check voltage supply; overload settings in motor starter for size and settings according to motor nameplate. Install proper size wire. If ambient temperature is high, use the next larger size overloads or adjust settings 5% above motor nameplate.
Turn pump fan by hand. If it will not turn, remove motor from pump and check motor and pump separately. Repair or replace if needed or call Economy for exchange program.

Possible Cause:
Exhaust filters are not properly installed with O-ring; Filter media is damaged.
Remedy:
check exhaust filter condition and replace if needed.

Remedy:
check oil quality and make certain oil lines are clean.

Possible Cause:
Not enough oil in the oil reservoir or oil is badly burned or carbonized.
Remedy:
check upper part of oil sump (open the exhaust filter cover) if the oil has not been scavenged back into the pump, check that the float valve is not stuck or that the oil line is not blocked.
Drain oil and refill with proper oil; change oil more frequently.

Remedy:
clean radiator and motor fins. Make sure that there is good ventilation.

Possible cause:
Pump operated without oil and vanes broke.

Remedy:
Call Economy for exchange program

Visually check oil level and color.

Inspect inline (inlet) filter and check for oil leaks

Check the exhaust filter’s function. (If oil mists at exhaust, replace the exhaust filter and O-ring)

Drain and discard oil from pump while warm/hot. Refill with fresh oil.
Every 9-18 month:
Replace exhaust filters and O-rings and also gas ballast filter.
Every 500 ~ 2000 operating hours:
Change the oil and oil filter. Check the float valve on the oil return line version

  • If process material contamination is in oil then oil replacement is required.
  • Also, check running hours of the pump and refill the oil.

  • Open the gas blast valve at pump running condition, it evaporates the water out from exhaust valve.

  • Scaling inside casing/impeller is jammed – Clean the pump and free the pump.
  • Misalignment of pump/motor coupling – Check and do proper alignment.
  • High density seal liquid – Check seal liquid density & use seal liquid as per pump designed density.

CAUSES and SOLUTIONS:

  • Process material gets clogged in – Free the pump by filling the solvent.
  • Post condenser is chocked – Clean the post condenser.
  • Exhaust port is closed – Open the exhaust port.
  • Pressure loss in pipe is increased – Attend the pressure leakage.

  • Vacuum pump inlet temperature is high.
  • Cooling water circulation is poor – Check for air lock in cooling line/ Clean the cooling water line/ dry vacuum pump jacket.
  • Too much compression ratio/ Vapour load increased.
